Task 4: Developing technologies in the television and film industries

Satellite is one of the changed that has been made in television. This is a broadcasting service that allows the subscribers to get a television signal. Satellite TV  comes with aerial which is normally placed on roofs or it can be attached to the television. Satellite TV has changed the ways in which viewers see the content on their television, this  allows the viewers to receive television signal on their television through a satellite. that way, the viewers should not get any signal problems.

Another television development is Cable television. This is another way for the audience to receive signal on their TV through a cable. Cable television runs under the ground to individual homes and gives them signal so they are able to watch their television. Cable television have changed the ways the viewers view media content by giving them the chance to choose any TV programmes or channels that they wish to watch.

Interactive television lets the viewers view their programmes and at the same time interact with their TV or film on demand. Interactive television is another way of getting the viewers to interact and be more involved and in control of their own television and programmes.

Pay per view is where you can watch a TV programme that allows subscribers to purchase certain programmes; pay per view allows viewers to add any additional programme that is not available on their television as long as they are subscribed to your provider.  pay per view allows the customer to pay for a channel, to try it out, if they like it and want to continue to watch it, they would have to keep paying for it.

Demand allows the viewers to watch what they want to watch, whenever they want to watch it without having a time table. Demand is very popular in the TV and film industry because it is run by lot of television providers.  Demand has changed the ways viewers view media.

The internet has been a big development in TV and film industry, it allows viewers to view media content such as film and television programmes on electrical equipment like phones, etc and producer also benefits from this because they get more rating and more of an audience all around the world through the internet. The internet has offered many opportunities for both television and film. For television audiences that miss show through content streaming and on demand viewing they can view programmes they have previously missed or want to watch again. Without the internet these new methods of viewing would not be available for audiences or producers.
